The AlkaSave SW 8-4 is designed and built for recovering spent acid used as cleaning chemicals in the dairy industry. The AlkaSave system is fed with spent solution from the customer feed tank and delivers back ready to use, Nitric acid after being cleaned by the MPS-34 membranes.
The AlkaSave SW 8-4 is equipped with 20 spiral wound membrane elements, MPS-34-8040, installed in four (4) 8040 SS-316-H5 pressure vessels, two pressure pumps, CIP tank, actuated and manual valves, heat exchanger with cooling water flow control valve, piping, monitoring and control equipment. Apart from CIP tank, all equipment is mounted on a Stainless Steel supporting structure.
The AlkaSave operation is controlled by a programmable logic controller installed in a Stainless Steel control cabinet. The control cabinet also contains control relays, an operator interface and an ORP analyser.
The AlkaSave process is divided into three main steps:
- Production.
- Rinse.
- CIP.
